African Literature Association Conference: Atlanta, April 6-9, 2016

Some of you may be interested in attending, and/or presenting at, this upcoming conference.  I’ve been once and had a great experience: it attracts major figures in the field, but is also small and intimate enough that there are some real opportunities to get to know people and share your work with an interested audience.  Plenty of grad students attend.  The abstract deadline is this Sunday, so you’ll need to put something together fairly quickly, but I know some of you may be writing on relevant subject matter for other courses right now, so thought I’d alert you to the opportunity!

In any event, I do hope to attend this conference – so you can more or less count on class being cancelled on Thursday, April 7.  Perhaps we could arrange a carpool, if enough people are interested in going.
